Dr. Yarah Beddawi is a leading specialist in endodontics and microsurgery. She has nearly two decades of dental experience and spent seven years in general dentistry before moving into the field of endodontics. She is a graduate of two of the most prominent dental schools—UCSF and Boston University. Dr. Beddawi and her team are dedicated to running a patient-focused, empathetic, and totally carbon-neutral practice.
Dr. Yarah Beddawi is an outlier, one of the “unsung heroes.” Her humble approach masks her amazing accomplishments personally and professionally. She is a humanitarian in every sense of the word. She offers pro-bono dental work to local underserved communities and she supports multiple missions overseas in developing countries. She kick-started Project ZOYA, an urban farm in Los Gatos geared towards feeding families in need in Silicon Valley. In partnership with a local not-for-profit, Yarah funds the project and ensures that fresh produce is delivered to families in need. Additionally, she volunteers with the local food bank where she leads a team in charge of food distribution on Sundays with her husband and two young children.
As a mother, Dr. Beddawi cares dearly about mother nature, which is why her office is the only dental office that we know of that is Carbon Neutral. She is leading the industry in making sure every dental procedure she performs is not harming the environment. This comes at a cost, but she is more focused on being a responsible citizen vs. maximizing profits. And why stop here? She has taken a giant leap forward: she directs up-to 20% of her business profit towards causes she cares deeply about in the form of donations - Social Justice, Women’s Rights, Education, Environment & Children.
On the professional side, Yarah attended two of the most prestigious dental schools in the country. She received her dental degree from UCSF Dental School in San Francisco, and completed her specialty in Endodontics & Microsurgery from the Henry Goldman School of Medicine in Boston. She has been practicing dentistry since 2005, using the most advanced methods.
“If you have read through all of this, I am grateful that you spent the time. I treat all my patients like family. I take personal pride in delivering excellence, which is why I outfitted my office with the most advanced equipment on the market. I have the habit of taking giant leaps in everything I touch, which is why I focus on excellence in patient care, environment, community, etc. My inspiration comes from my children. I would like to serve as a role model for them and others to strive for excellence and doing good. We need a mind-shift in the industry to focus less on short-term profits and look at investing in humanity for a better future. Please join me in making a difference. I look forward to seeing you in my office. Fun fact: I played professional basketball for a Women's National Team overseas. I will tell you more when we meet.”

Talented endodontist Dr. Yarah Beddawi was pleased to participate in the Silicon Valley Healthy Smiles campaign, a free dental clinic that aimed to treat 1,500 people in need. Dr. Beddawi volunteered alongside dozens of other dental professionals at the San Jose Convention Center and provided free dental care to uninsured or insured individuals with low or no income in Santa Clara County. The goal of the campaign, which was organized by the Santa Clara County Dental Foundation, was to improve overall health by eliminating infection and relieving pain associated with poor oral health.
Dr. John Pisacane, President of the Santa Clara County Dental Foundation, highlighted the overwhelming unmet dental needs in the county and the negative consequences of poor oral health on various aspects of individuals' lives. The foundation is dedicated to increasing access to dental care by supporting programs operated by volunteer dentists from the Santa Clara County Dental Society.
The event offered services such as cleanings, fillings, and root canals for people of all ages. Both adults and children could avail themselves of the free services. The clinic was operated entirely by volunteer dentists and community members. The event's organizers and financers emphasized that the event specifically benefited community members who lacked access to dental care and mentioned the positive impact the clinic had on the underserved people in San Jose and surrounding communities like Mountain View.
An endodontist is a dental specialist who diagnoses and treats issues regarding the dental pulp. The dental pulp is the collection of tissues, nerve endings, and blood vessels found inside the tooth.
Oftentimes, when the dental pulp becomes infected, the only possible treatment is root canal therapy, which is why many endodontists focus almost exclusively on this particular procedure.
In order to become an endodontist, dentists must complete multiple years’ worth of training beyond their initial dental schooling. It’s a highly focused dental specialty that’s difficult to master, but it’s not just training and experience that makes the best endodontists.
At The Modern Endodontist in Mountain View, we believe that empathy is just as important as any other factor determining the quality of your endodontic care. We incorporate that philosophy into every single appointment and every procedure.
